FAQs
What Vaccinations Are Required for dog grooming?
The state of Iowa requires all dog grooming facilities to have an up-to-date copy of the Rabies (for dogs over 6 months) and Distemper vaccinations before we can accept pets into our care. We also highly recommend the Bordetella vaccination.
We must have a physical or digital copy of these vaccination records — a rabies tag alone will not suffice.
You can upload a copy of your pet’s vaccination records directly to their account by clicking here.
What If I Can’t Pick Up My Dog Right Away?
We will send a “ready” text about 10 minutes before your dogs grooming is finished to limit their time in a kennel. If you're unable to pick up your pup within one hour of this notification, you may be charged a $20 fee.
When Should I Start Grooming My Puppy?
PLEASE bring us your puppies! We recommend introducing them to grooming at around 12 weeks of age. Their first groom will typically be a Face, Feet, and Fanny trim — a gentle way to get them used to the sights, sounds, and sensations of grooming.
We love building bonds with puppies and hope they become lifelong clients. It's just as exciting for us as it is for you to watch them grow!
How Often Should I Get My Dog Groomed?
Most dogs should be groomed every 4–6 weeks, but every coat type is different. Once we meet your pup, we’ll help determine the grooming schedule that’s best for them.
Do You Offer Dematting Services?
In some cases, yes — we can attempt to gently de-matt your dog. This service is $1.00 per minute. However, in most cases, the safest and most comfortable option is to shave or thin out matted areas.
We’ll always discuss the best approach with you before starting.
